Panza Verde is well
known for high quality
cuisine combined with
romantic ambience and
personal and attentive
service. Take your
choice of dining up on
Café Terraza with its
stunning views over
volcanoes and monuments,
on the veranda next to
the garden, amid fine
wines in our elegant
dining room with vaulted
ceilings and grand
fireplace, or choose to
dine by candle light at
Cueva Panza Verde, where
on Thursday and Friday
nights we feature live
jazz and Cuban music.
Our Swiss chef
Christophe Pache is
renown for his
“international cuisine
with a twist”, a wide
array of innovative and
delicious dishes.
Begin your evening
with a cocktail on our
rooftop terrace,
watching the sun set
behind the volcanoes or
in one of our two small
and cosy bars. Proceed
with dinner in your
preferred ambience. The
restaurant at Panza
Verde offer several
different settings for
your dinner: outside on
our patio surrounding
the green garden filled
with flowers, fountains
and candles, in the
original vaulted dining
room or in La Cueva, the
inner cave, perhaps
where you find the most
romantic ambience at
Panza Verde, dining at
one of the intimate
tables next to the small
swimming pool or at one
of the round tables
surrounded by grand
chandeliers. It is also
in La Cueva where on
Thursday and Friday
nights live music is
performed. Thursday
night there is a Latin
jazz band playing and on
Friday nights an
excellent Cuban trio
takes the small scene.
Should you feel for it,
spontaneous dancing is
always welcomed!
Panza Verde strives
to offer you
“international cuisine
with a twist”, which
signifies classic dishes
of pasta, meat, fowl and
seafood prepared and
served with innovative
touches. Our Swiss head
chef Christophe Pache
finds his inspiration in
cuisines from all parts
of the world and brings
refinement to the
dishes. For a lighter
lunch you might want to
enjoy an Arugula salad,
picked fresh from our
own garden, tossed with
sliced parmesan cheese
and garlic, followed by
a Fettucine Gorbachev,
pasta with smoked
salmon, vodka, tomato
and cream. Or, try the
Poulet Gorgonzola,
breast of chicken in a
gorgonzola sauce sautéed
with red bell peppers,
onions and mushrooms or
one of our many fresh
fish dishes, like the
Tuna filet in curry
sauce or Robalo Meuniére.

| It doesn’t get
much better than this: find food
and great cocktails, attentive
service, and a superb setting. A
walk up the candlelit stone
stairs to the rooftop terrace,
whether for a cocktail a
full-course dinner, or just to
see the view, is memorable,
especially if nearby Volcán
Fuego’s is showing off in the
nighttime sky. True romantics
will want to book ahead for a
private dinner by candlelight in
El Sereno’s manmade grotto-a
rare treat.
The restaurant El Sereno is
housed in one of the most
magnificent colonial residences
of Antigua Guatemala. Built in
the 16th century, it was home to
the Royal Mercedarian Order
while its members were
overseeing the construction of
their church. "El Sereno"
was founded in 1980 and became
one of the first gourmet
restaurants featuring both
national and international
cuisine in the city of Antigua.
It is referred to as one of the
best in a high-raking category
of fine dining places by
numerous international
publications and travel guides.
The New York Times has described
it as elegant and sophisticated
in a romantic colonial setting.
Its well-acquired reputation has
consistently drawn Guatemalans
and foreigners alike, bewildered
by the spacious old-world dining
rooms, graceful fireplaces and
the outstanding quality of the
food.
The garden, overwhelming and
tropical but evenly trimmed,
invites for lunch or dinner
around the fountain under the
Jacaranda trees.
The upstairs terrace, one of the
highest flat-roof points above
the greatest 16th century water
deposit in Antigua, offers a
panoramic view of the city’s
domes and bell towers standing
resolutely within the Valley of
Panchoy, with its surrounding
mountain chains dominated by
volcanoes Agua, Fuego and
Acatenango. "La Terraza"
is favored particularly at
sunset for coffee, wine or
romantic dining.
The ‘CAVA’, an unsuspected
candle-lit chamber, is
undoubtedly El Sereno’s
best-kept secret amidst such
evocative surroundings where
intimacy and romanticism will
reach summits.
The restaurant "El Sereno"
offers complete facilities for
small meetings, seminars and
conventions ranging from 20 to
300 persons. It’s personalized
service combined with the finest
dining in a unique 16th century
setting make it a first choice
in Guatemala.
